Today, as the demand for new services is emerging with the evolution of new technologies in telecom, network assurance is crucial in protecting and promoting sustainable, long-term value for cellular services providers (CSPs).

CSPs need a network digital twin as a part of network assurance that can provide a digital replica of the entire network, be it from the perspective of inventory, health, or quality of service (QoS) of the underlying network, in almost real-time.

Rakuten Symphony’s RAN Commander platform is leading the digital transformation in this network assurance space, acting as a fast, reliable, near real-time digital twin of the radio network with a federated database built over performance, configuration and alarm data coming from the network.

The network team of a CSP can use RAN Commander’s user-friendly interface for geospatial visualization of network sites. Explore the latest physical parameters and configuration attributes, evaluate traffic and capacity performance, and identify outage and performance degradation alarms for each and every site of the network reliably and flawlessly. These standard capabilities deliver excellent business value by eliminating and reducing manual data compilation and processing efforts and time.

Rakuten Symphony’s RAN Commander platform is leading the digital transformation in this network assurance space, acting as a fast, reliable, near real-time digital twin of the radio network with a federated database built over performance, configuration and alarm data coming from the network.

In addition to empowering users with advanced cloud-native planning and simulation features over a highly interactive network planning interface, RAN Commander also enables users to visualize the predicted network coverage and crowd-sourced actual coverage data. Furthermore, they can correlate several network KPIs and use the geospatial analysis capability of the tool to find possible KPI fallouts and estimate the best action to resolve issues most effectively. It thus leads to superior employee experience and helps CSPs reduce the cost of operations by leveraging automation.

With RAN Commander, the engineers at Rakuten Symphony have created a platform with microservices-based, cloud-native architecture with fully automated data collection, processing and correlation at speed and scale. Adopting APIs to make different services work in tandem has made this platform scalable and resilient while keeping it multi-vendor and multi-technology simultaneously.

RAN Commander has created a genuine digital twin that is a reliable and purpose-led replica of the RAN entities in a virtual environment, serving as a single unified view and acting as a true single pane of glass of the radio network.
