TOKYO, FEBRUARY 9, 2023 – Rakuten Symphony, Inc. today announced the general availability of Symworld™ Site Management for automated mobile network site lifecycle management. Symworld Site Management addresses all processes for the design, build, commissioning, and subsequent lifecycle management of any telecom network site.
Symworld Site Management supercharged Rakuten Mobile’s network rollout in Japan, drastically reducing the operator’s original schedule for nationwide coverage by reaching 98% of Japan's population in only four years. The network operates with a team of just 250 people, supported by zero-touch provisioning at scale for reduced site commissioning times at 30% lower operational cost.
“The buildout of cell sites is typically dominated by laborious processes, multi-vendor engagements and multiple tools to get the job done, making it ripe for disruption by digital, zero-touch procedures,” said Narendra Narayana, Managing Director and President of Rakuten Symphony India. “Symworld Site Management addresses high-cost, labor-intensive, distributed site activity with automated site management, built on a common process and data platform to help power the future of system-level network automation.”
Symworld Site Management automates every step required in the planning, procurement, commissioning, acceptance and integration of telecom site turn up, eradicating spreadsheets and paperwork to accelerate business automation activities.
The solution consists of three integrated applications, built on a common platform:
Symworld Site Management leverages the Symworld Platform, which provides common workflow, data, and artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML) services. As a cloud-native, business-wide automation platform, Symworld Platform helps telecom operators scale faster as cloud sets the pace for speed, innovation, and network expectations. It offers a forward path from legacy Operation Support Systems (OSS), enabling both new and existing service providers to significantly lower the cost and increase the speed to plan, build, and operate a mobile network.
Migrating all processes and data into the Symworld Platform allows automation of next steps notifications and full project/program auditability and financial control. All workflows can be customized through a low-code, no-code self-service interface. Dependency on multiple tools for tracking, license management, and data management is removed through the introduction of one platform, one data repository, centralized licensing, and secure access management.
