Shinichi Sasaki has more than 17 years of executive experience across Rakuten Group’s overseas offices in Asia and Europe, with proven expertise in budgeting process design, implementation and control, business operations oversight, and leadership of corporate functions.
After spearheading budgeting process initiatives across multiple business units in Japan, he moved in 2013 to Rakuten Europe S.a.r.l., which oversees the company’s European businesses. From its base in Luxembourg, he oversaw operations in five European countries. He then led the corporate functions at Rakuten Securities’ Hong Kong office for four years, and was subsequently appointed Director at Rakuten Asia Pte. Ltd., which manages the Asia-Pacific region outside Japan.
He is currently based in Singapore, serving as Chief Financial Officer (CFO) of Rakuten Symphony.
