Koichi Masaki

A transformational leader with over 30 years of experience in the ICT industry, Koichi Masaki led new business development at the U.S. subsidiary of Itochu Corporation for over 10 years, spearheading partnerships with IT ventures and numerous new business development initiatives in Silicon Valley.
Masaki subsequently spent 15 years at Cisco Systems G.K., ultimately serving as Managing Director of the Public and Geo Sector as well as Director of Enterprise Networking. He played a leading role in driving the digitization and societal implementation of Japan’s critical infrastructure.
Masaki has held his current position since 2025. By combining his experience in strategic management at global corporations with his diverse business development experience at a trading company, he is driving Japan’s digital transformation through promoting adoption of an open telecommunications infrastructure and leading the growth of Rakuten Symphony in the Japanese market.
