Rakuten Symphony has been on the front lines of many of the major technology shifts benefitting mobile network operators (MNO) today. And at its side has been Tech Mahindra – the global system integrator that has joined forces with Rakuten Symphony to bring these technologies like edge computing, cloud-native networking, Open RAN, and network automation to life.
To find out more about the power of this partnership and current customer priorities, Rakuten Symphony’s Thomas Riedel, VP of Sales, Europe, had an engaging conversation with Abhishek Malhotra, Global Service Line Head, Network Services, Tech Mahindra.
Here are three takeaways from this conversation.
Abhishek recounted how Tech Mahindra was an early believer in Rakuten Symphony and worked together with the company to evolve the solution and use it to solve problems for many customers. The partnership has progressed beyond technology integration to a co-creation model focused on measurable business outcomes for customers.
“When you see a successful customer realizing, and appreciating the better-together value of Rakuten and Tech Mahindra it's surely something that makes a lot of us who've been involved in this journey over the years extremely proud.”
One big priority is moving operators along the path of making autonomous network operations a reality. Customers need to embrace open architectures and Open RAN and to de-complicate their networks that are complex because they involve so many legacy platforms.
Said Abhishek: “We've … taken Rakuten (software) and rendered services and use cases that actually help (MNOs) transform from level 1 to level 4 and beyond on the autonomous network operations scale…(this) is surely something that we are doing very well with each other.”
The growing adoption of AI in mobile networks is creating the need to implement cloud-native telco solutions at the edge and both Rakuten Symphony and Tech Mahindra are committed to each other to bring solutions to customers.
Developing edge solutions will actually “require the customers to have really consultative, capable services and for solutions companies to … ensure that (the customer) journeys are not hypothetical but real in execution and that to me is the power of both of us together,” Abhishek said.
