The Telecom Infra Project (TIP) is driving the open telecom services revolution in a unique way. Working with operators and vendors, TIP creates and validates use case definitions for new telecom technologies. Its focus on proving technology blueprints for accelerated commercial deployment makes involvement in the activities highly valuable.
This work augments the work of standards bodies and the organization drives the right participation and the right horizontal approach, both of which leads to successful technology adoption.
This mission has always been well aligned with our work at Rakuten Symphony, and now with the backing of the world’s largest and most leading operators we decided to fully join in October. Last week, we held a conversation with executive director of TIP to discuss the goals for the organization. And this week, we are kicking off our work with TIP by sending three senior executives and subject matter experts to present at TIP’s FYUZ 2025 conference in Convention Centre Dublin (Nov. 3-5, 2025).
FYUZ 2025 is TIP’s signature three-day trade event. It offers members and the telco industry an opportunity to come together for discussion and education on the future of open and disaggregated networks.
I will be part of a team of Rakuten Symphony executives attending FYUZ 2025 where we will share our expertise in open software, automation and AI across the entire telecom tech stack.
Working with TIP, we want to tackle the next challenge: delivering openness at scale. This requires a systemic shift in how the industry collaborates. The TIP community has the framework to bring together operators and vendors for collaboration without stepping on competition. We want to help the industry to collaborate faster with an emphasis on shared validation.
We’ve been immersed in this work from the earliest days of Open RAN, starting with Rakuten Mobile, so we can share real-world experience in these areas through our pioneering work. Recently, we announced an agreement with STL-MOBITEL around an Open RAN project, which complements a number of such announcements this past year, demonstrating the desire of operators and countries to learn and embrace the openness concept and new operational models.
This is a big challenge, and it starts with the discussions we have at FYUZ. Here are the Rakuten Symphony panelists and moderators presenting during the event:
Vivek Murthy, President, OSS Business Unit, will be part of a panel titled: “Automation in Practice across Networks & Operations,” taking place on Nov. 3, 2025, from 10:15 – 11:05 on the Main Stage.
He is joined by the following panelists:
Anshul Bhatt Chief Product Officer (OSS Business Unit) and Head of Intelligent Operations, will participate in a panel titled, “A Trusted Path to Scaling RAN Automation & Intelligence,” taking place on Nov. 3, 2025, from 11:05 – 12:00 on the Main Stage.
He will be joined by the following on the panel:
Sandeep Karkala will participate in a panel: “Beyond the RIC: Advancing SMO for Full-Stack Orchestration in Open RAN,” taking place on Nov. 3, 2025, from 13:45 – 15:45 in a Breakout room. He will be joined by the following:
