In the era of 5G and open networks, collaboration is becoming a cornerstone of digital transformation in telecom. In a recent interview moderated by Abe Nejad of the Network Media Group (NMG), leaders from Rakuten Symphony and Xyntac Enterprise discussed how partnerships, APIs, and innovative network technologies are enabling telecom providers to drive scalable, future-ready solutions. These collaborative efforts are not only enhancing telecom infrastructure but also unlocking value across diverse industry verticals.
The session featured Anuradha Udunuwara, Senior Consulting Engineer, Xyntac, and Faiq Khan, SVP Global Sales OSS BU, Rakuten Symphony, who shared insights on leveraging 5G and Open RAN to transform telecom operations. The leaders highlighted Xyntac’s role in deploying 5G and Open RAN for global projects, and its collaborative partnerships with Rakuten Symphony. They also emphasized the role of APIs in enhancing network performance, citing examples of report automation and CRM integration.
Both speakers agreed that effective partnerships are essential for advancing industry standards and unlocking cross-industry value. They illustrated this with a vision of connected data ecosystems, where telcos collaborate with companies across sectors, such as transportation and healthcare, to provide more integrated services. There was unrestrained optimism about the potential of such partnerships to enhance daily conveniences, as multiple APIs across sectors create cohesive, interconnected experiences for users.
In the future, the success of companies will depend on selecting the right partners and leveraging combined expertise. Trusted partnerships, such as Xyntac’s collaboration with Rakuten Symphony, will enable telcos to manage large-scale 5G deployments by pooling resources and knowledge effectively. Through API-driven solutions, Rakuten Symphony enables a seamless data flow across systems, making it possible to better manage configurations, registrations, and other processes. This approach, notably, is key to driving both quality and reliability for telecom operators and their enterprise clients.
“We rely on two things: the right partner selection and our talent. If you have the right partners and the right talent, I think we can be successful in large-scale projects as well.”
“The key is collaboration. I believe, in telcos, whatever data we are collecting is very much usable, whether it’s healthcare, transport etc. There’s a lot of collaboration already happening across industry verticals, and there is room to do more.”
As 5G, Open RAN, and APIs continue to shape the industry, partnerships between telcos and technology providers are enabling new levels of innovation and efficiency. By embracing cross-industry collaboration, telcos can evolve beyond connectivity and become a foundation for transformative, digital experiences across sectors. The session highlighted this power of collaboration, which when unleashed, will enable the telecom industry to push toward scalable, future-ready solutions.
